Robert Yonash, a registered nurse, has been with the Patient Safety Authority since 2009 as the patient safety liaison for the southwest region of Pennsylvania. In his role as a Patient Safety Liaison, he is responsible for working with his regional medical facilities to assist them in the reduction and elimination of medical errors.  In this position, Robert has been assigned to a number of projects including the statewide CMS Partnership for Patients Hospital Engagement Network Wrong Site Surgery Prevention Collaboration and the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority/Pennsylvania Society of Anesthesiologists Wrong-Site Block Initiative. Robert is a member of the American Society of Professionals in Patient Safety and has attained certification as a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) and Certified Six Sigma Lean Green Belt in Healthcare. He is also a master trainer in TeamSTEPPS.

Before coming to the Authority, Robert worked as a Health Facility Quality Examiner (Surveyor) in the Pittsburgh Field Office for the Pennsylvania Department of Health Division of Acute and Ambulatory Care.  He also held a similar position with the Department of Health Division of Nursing Care Facilities. In these positions he was charged with surveying a range of healthcare facilities including hospitals, ambulatory surgical facilities and nursing homes for compliance with state and federal (CMS) regulations as well as federal organ transplant regulations.

In his other experience he worked at the Monongahela Valley Hospital in the risk management/quality improvement department. In his role with the hospital, he aggregated and analyzed data for quality, performance improvement, patient safety and risk management. He also worked with numerous committees on various patient safety issues including: patient falls, patient restraints, resuscitation review, medication errors and adverse drug reactions.

Robert is a graduate of Penn State University and has held numerous registered nursing positions in a number of hospitals and nursing homes in southwestern Pennsylvania.

Biographical Information: Zachary Berry is an MR Clinical Services Specialist with Philips Healthcare. Zach has been working in radiology for 10 years and an ASRT member since 2008.

Preeti Hullur RT(ARRT) and Certified EMT and currently working as EMT at Lehigh EMS Services. She has been EMT Since July 2016. Preeti is a graduate of AAS – Morehead State University Morehead KY, Bachelorette in Business from Karnataka University, India and Masters in Radiologic Sciences from Mid Western State University,

Kenneth Roszel M.S.,R.T.(R) - Student Mentoring

Kenneth Roszel is a 1972 graduate of Broome Community Junior College’s radiography program and a veteran of the US Army, having served in Germany with the 47th Medical Battalion, 1st Armored

Division. Following his military discharge, he found employment as a staff technologist at Geisinger Medical Center in 1976. While working as a CT technologist, he pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Bloomsburg University. In 1981 he became the first clinical instructor for the school, responsible for clinical education activities and some classroom courses. He earned a Master of Science degree in Instructional Design from Bloomsburg University in 1994. During the school’s hiatus he managed Geisinger Health Plan’s Member Education and Appeals departments. In 2002, he assumed his current position.
