Bio for Helen Bradley

President elect

I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Radiological Sciences. Upon graduation began working at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, one of America’s top 10 pediatric institutions. I began working as a Rad Tech I in the diagnostic and fluoroscopic department. After several years in diag I began cross training in Children’s interventional radiology department and fell in love with the discipline. I wanted to expand my vascular knowledge and I transferred to an adult facility to gain that expertise. For several years I worked at UPMC Passavant in Mc Chandelles, PA as a special procedures technologist. While I was there I became certified in Vascular Interventional radiology. An achievement that I am very proud of. I have enjoyed assisting and tutoring many other techs to achieve their VI certification as well. Before entering the radiologic field as a nontraditional student I had a management background. An opportunity next arose that would allow me to blend my two careers. I returned to UPMC Children’s Hospital in a leadership role. This is when I became acquainted with PSRT. I was asked to be a speaker at one of their mini conferences. I spoke on pediatric trauma and I have been an enthusiastic participant of PSRT ever since. I was approached by the board of PSRT with an opportunity to act as Sargent at Arms at the next upcoming PSRT Annual Spring Conference. I have gone on to hold the positions of President –Elect, President and ultimately the Chairman of the PSRT Board of Directors. Throughout this experience I have had the honor of meeting and networking with some of the most amazing and dedicated radiological professional in the business. I thoroughly enjoy the mentoring aspect that accompanied these positions.
