Ameena Elahi began her career at Penn Medicine in 2003 as an x-ray technologist, gaining experience in Bone/Chest imaging, Interventional Radiology (IR), and the Image-Processing Department (IPD). In 2014, she transitioned to the Information Services (IS) department, contributing significantly to the Clinical Imaging Group (CIG). Now, as the Application Manager of the Medical Imaging Management (MIM) team, she oversees imaging applications, radiology research, and AI integration in clinical settings.
Ameena holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Administration from Drexel University, a master’s in Public Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management. She is currently completing a second masters in Organizational Dynamics Analytics at The University of Pennsylvania.
Passionate about radiology, Ameena mentors technologists transitioning to imaging informatics. She serves as Operations Director of Informatics for RAD-AID International, improving radiology services in underserved areas, and volunteers with several imaging informatics organizations. She is on the Society of Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) board and is the inaugural recipient of the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII) Excellence in Imaging Informatics Award. Ameena is also an author of various peer-reviewed articles and scientific abstracts, supporting her commitment to advancing imaging informatics and supporting radiologic technologists.
