- Introductions:
Sharon introduced those present and gave a brief background - ASRT start up:
Sharon stated the ASRT gave the PSRT $2,500 to help get the society started. The money was placed into an account and will be used for ancillary tasks. - Transfer of funds:
David T. Nixon presented a check in the amount of $4,961.05 which was left over from when the society was active.Sharon wrote a check for $2,317.90 to pay for the 990 EZ taxes and a second check for $500.18 to cover the Form 941. These amounts had to be received by the IRS before 6/26/06. David T. Nixon took the checks and is responsible for mailing them. David is to send the reciepit for paying back taxes to Sharon.
- Acting Officers:
Sharon announced the acting officers: Sharon Miller Chairman, Jane Merklin Vice-chairman, Paula Scaramozzino Secretary / Treasurer. - Dues:
The amount to charge for yearly dues was discussed. The group agreed to $25.00 a year for technologists and $10.00 a year for students. - Fliers:
A flier must be generated to announce the PSRT to all interested technologists.Items such as voice on the national level and continuing education credits must be stressed to prompt interest in the radiology community.
- Committees:
The formation of committees and board members were discussed. Possible considerations for participants are Sue Guinard and David T. Nixon. This will be discussed further and the candidates will be contacted. - Conference:
The annual PSRT conference needs to be scheduled. Possible dates are April 25 or May 5. It should be held after ASRT meeting. Sharon is checking to see if the Blair County Convention Center is available and David will check at the Sheraton in Warrendale.
- Introductions:
Becoming a member of a professional organization like the PSRT will provide significant benefits both in terms of professional growth and personal satisfaction. For individuals serious about their career in radiologic technology, it is a worthwhile consideration.
