Jence Garza MHA, RT(R)
Jence Garza grew up in west Texas, where she graduated from the Scenic Mountain Medical Center school of Radiologic Technology. She was a practicing radiographer in rural hospitals before moving to a large hospital system in Lubbock, TX. She spent five years in the Cardiac Cath Lab as the senior radiographer before moving to the hospital based medical group. She quickly was promoted, becoming the Director of Ancillary Services for the medical group supervising the radiology and moderately complex laboratories in Covenant Health’s west Texas and eastern New Mexico facilities.
Over 20 years ago, she moved to Houston and joined the Advanced Health Education Center team. Initially she managed the MEDRelief Staffing division. She began teaching courses for AHEC in 2018, and became a partner and the Chief Executive Officer in 2021. Jence is also an MQSA qualified mammographer and has served on different committees for the Texas Society of Radiologic Technologists for the past five years and was awarded the Dr. James Johnston Leadership Award in 2025. She served on the Nominations committee in 2024 for the American Society of Radiologic Technologist. She has also served as the Co-Facilitator for Healthcare Staffing Advisory Counsel and different Technical Advisory Panels for the Joint Commission.
A lifelong learner and proud Red Raider, Jence received both her BS and Master’s degrees from Texas Tech University. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband and going to see their seven grandchildren.
